Al-Huda of Shela
A 6 minute campaign video I wrote, storyboarded, filmed and edited for an Islamic school based in Shela, Kenya. The purpose is for a crowdfunding project hosted by Launchgood to raise $200k to rebuild Al-Huda School and preserve the 800 year-old legacy.

"Education from the Educators" is a 13 min documentary on NC teachers speaking on the public education system, especially during the time of Trump's administration being confirmed after the elections. Despite all their challenges, they share their passions and purpose behind why they keep doing it. I interviewed my former colleges from when I was a high school teacher with them.

N.C. Syrian: A Refugee's Story
"N.C. Syrian: A Refugee's Story" is a documentary that interviewed four Syrian refugee families that recently moved to Raleigh, NC. They share the stories of how they got here, why, and how. It is not without great difficulty they try to find a new life in a new land, among new people. With due time, the full documentary will be completed.

This is a short video interviewing the Imam (religious leader) sharing the legacy of the place of worship, its achievements and the facility, with the goal of raising funds to relive it of its debt.

Originally based on a spoken word performance by Marc Bamuthi Joseph, the video aimed to put his words in a real life setting, interacting with a tangible world. I challenged myself in two ways: The film must be done in a single take, and the narrative will unfold in reverse.
